I believe a diamond such as this needs 6-8 prongs in the semi-mount. With a 4-prong setting- damage to even one prong or prong head will cause the diamond to be lost. My daughter-in-law lost her gorgeous diamond due to this exact 4-prong issue. My diamond has 8 prongs in the semi-mount holding my diamond securely- two at each "corner" of the semi-mount.

I always think that you could add garnets or rubies for love or the birthstones of the man and woman, or stones of protection.... I'm not that fond of diamonds myself so colored stones make so much sense to me

i personally like the yellow gold, because the diamonds stand out more. however, what i like is irrelevant. the previous jeweler should have never dismissed his customer's wishes. she paid for a service, and she should have gotten what she asked for

This is so fake. I wear my grandfather's old wedding band so it's around 70+ years old. It hasn't worn down at all. I just polished it up and it's beautiful.

I think it’s cuter as an earring since with a bellybutton piercing you’d have to wear crop tops or low rise pants. Meaning you can’t wear it year round and show it off. With earrings you won’t have to change outfits and it’s easier to show off! Maybe she could get a smaller Diamond or use the old sliver to make a bellybutton ring just to symbolize the gift in its original form.

So is the jewelry industry going through a "now we cut whatever shape diamond cuts we want" era? I've seen a few videos with "new diamond cuts" what's different now from before? Why didn't gem cutters cut this shapes before? I wonder if they aren't the most optimal/best cut for the the type of gem, that's why? Because I wouldn't want to get a diamond cut just because, if it's not going to let the whole beauty of the stone show/come out.
